Dream job will pay you £1,800 to watch Christmas films throughout December

If you plan on spending December wrapped up in a warm blanket on the sofa binge-watching Christmas films, then you might as well get paid for it.

A dream job is looking for applicants to watch 25 festive films of your choosing in 25 days to provide a professional judgement on the greatest Christmas movie of all time.

As well as bagging £1,870 in cash, you’ll get a one-year subscription to seven streaming services including Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.

To take on the role with Reviews.org, titled Chief Holiday Cheermeister, you’ll simply need a device compatible for streaming and be willing to complete the difficult task of picking the 25 films you want to watch.

After each film you’ll be required to fill out a short survey scoring each movie on holiday cheer and Christmas nostalgia to find the winner.

The movies you watch are entirely your choice – as long as they are Christmas themed – and you might even be allowed to put Die Hard on the list if you can put forward a convincing enough argument.

  • Home Alone
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • The Santa Clause
  • Elf
  • Klaus
  • A Christmas Story
  • Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
  • Rise of the Guardians
  • The Polar Express

  • It’s a Wonderful Life
  • Jingle All the Way

  • The Muppet Christmas Carol

A list of suggestions has already been picked out for you, including Home Alone, Elf, Arthur Christmas, The Grinch, and Miracle on 34th Street.

Unfortunately for Brits, it’s only open to those who work in the US over the age of 18, with applications closing on December 4.

The job description says: “Listen up, future Chief Holiday Cheermeister! Do you love all things holiday-related, like peppermint mochas, fully decorated homes, and cuddling on the couch under a snowflake blanket while watching a holiday movie?

“Good, because that means you’re the right person to help us find the best holiday movie of all time.

“How are you going to do this, you ask? You’ll get to watch 25 holiday movies of your choice in 25 days. (It’s a dream come true, we know!).”
