Children’s Service Incorporated Joins the Initiative to Educate Families and Children About Good Nutrition and Maintaining a Healthy Diet
Philadelphia, PA – August 2016 – “Nearly 1 in 3 children in Pennsylvania are overweight or obese, and with the adult obesity rate set to hit 44% by 2030, it’s more important than ever to teach young people about good nutrition and healthy food preparation.” Therefore, Children’s Service Incorporated (CSI) joins the initiative to educate young adults about good nutrition and maintaining a healthy diet.
CSI is currently developing partnerships with many of the area’s social organizations, including Community Umbrella Agencies (CUA’s) and NutrxFitness.com to create ongoing nutrition programs for children and families. The partnership involves distributing information on nutrition, fitness, and health through our online blog at csichild.org.
“If we start fostering good nutritional behavior in children early on, the chances are better for the children to continue this as they advance into their later years,” says Sarah Fullwood, certified fitness and nutritional trainer of NutrxFitness.com. “This is a proactive measure and our goals are to reduce terminal diseases in the upcoming generations.”
Not only do we teach people how to begin their journey to better health, we present tools that can give everyone an opportunity to begin their own nutritional program. Starting Fall of 2016, NutrxFitness street team will visit CUA’s area the Philadelphia and distribute diet information, talk to parents and host seminars for more formal education sessions.
